Heartbeat

I want to work myself out of a job! My passion is twofold –

1) to equip and train mission leaders and member care professionals in the various organizations represented in Southeast Asia to provide care to the members of their organizations, and

2) through proactive, preventative and innovative missionary member care such as on-field orientation (after culture shock hits), developing mentors (to walk new people through transition), training missionaries in “soul care”, team building (expectations, philosophy of ministry, work ethic, conflict resolution), individual, marital and team mental health check-ups, and debriefings --- to provide services that help put resources in the individuals lives that will reduce the need for intensive and long term counseling. In addition, one of the most important aspects of having healthy individuals in our mission organizations, is to encourage mission leaders to model healthy living by – #1 abiding in Christ themselves, ministering in healthy ways (in spite of difficult situations) to their own families, modeling “margin” (have a balanced view of work, sleep, exercise, rest, play), and mentoring their missionaries, with grace and wisdom, to be spiritually, physically, and mentally healthy.

My Staff – have a wealth of experience in preventative, proactive, innovative member care including life coaching, leadership development, mentoring, spiritual direction, soul care, spiritual warfare, cross cultural adjustment, team building, spiritual formation, stress testing, spiritual protection for our children, freedom in Christ, pastoral care, prayer ministry … as well as restorative skills (counseling). It’s my passion to use the gifts and talents of my staff to proactively move into the mission community with teaching, seminars, retreats, etc. in order to reduce the need for “fixing” missionaries after they’ve crashed and burned. That’s my heartbeat.
