Accommodations in Chiang Mai


Chiang Mai offers variety of guesthouses and hotels based on budget as well as location. Listed below are some of the local guesthouses, hotels and resorts with location near either Night Bazaar or within 10 – 15 minutes driving distance to The Well Member Care Center. Reservations can be made directly with the guesthouses and hotels through their websites or use one of the discounted websites (for hotels only) below for possible better rates or other choices of accommodation.

Transportation is readily available from the list of accommodation below between the range of 100 – 150 Baht each way either by “Tuk Tuk” or “SongThaew”. Please check with the management of the place where you are staying for the going rates. Remember to negotiate for an agreeable fare before boarding. Taxis are available as well, but be sure to ask for the driver to turn the meter on.



The Dwelling



The Dwelling is offered to Christian workers completely free IF you are receiving Member Care services from either The Well, Cornerstone Counseling or from your organization's Member Care personnel while in Chiang Mai. If you are not receiving Member Care services, the suggested donation is 1200 Baht/night - that reserves the entire home for your own private use.

Ideally, The Dwelling desires to serve only one group or family at a time. It is not our primary objective to maintain full occupancy of every room, but instead to be able to provide a quiet, relaxing, and private environment for groups to rest, refresh and reunite.

If several singles or families agree in advance, you may reserve the home for a shared stay.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it ). Another option is The Juniper Tree. It is well-equipped to provide lodging for those desiring fellowship with other Christian workers and/or westerners. If you will not be receiving Member Care services while staying at The Dwelling, please reserve the home no more than 2 weeks in advance - or you might want to consider staying at the above options, as they are Christian owned and very affordable.

Beulah


Beulah is a small separate bungalow built on the same property with a family house. It is ideal for a couple or a family with children who would like to share it when using the services at The Well and Cornerstone Counseling in Chiang Mai.

This bungalow has 2 connecting air-conditioned rooms (1 double-room and 1 sitting room that can be used for extra bedroom ), 2 western - style toilets  with 2 hot water shower and a small kitchenette area . Bed linen and towels are provided.

Location
Located in a neighborhood, 8 minutes walk to The Well Member Care Center, or 5 minutes drive to Cornerstone Counseling Center.  Big C supermarket, with food-court, other shopping, and banks, is nearby across Chiang Mai-Lampang road. It takes about 10 minutes to drive to the city of Chiang Mai where the night market, restaurants, and hospitals are.

Transportation
Guest can call red van or air-con taxi to pick up at gate. Fare to city center is 80-100 baht for red van and 150 baht for taxi (one way).

Description: This 10-room Bed and Breakfast guest house is a short walk from Chiang Mai Community Church and close to a western-style grocery store. It is a 5- minute walk from the Night Market. Accommodations are hotel-like and rooms are basic. Laundry service is available for an extra charge. Complimentary breakfast is included in the room charge. Airport/train/bus transfer is available if pre-arranged with the proprietors.

Lighthouse


Description: This 10-bedroom, 10-bath guesthouse is located just a couple blocks off of Chang Klan Rd near the Empress Hotel. “Lighthouse" guesthouse, which exists to serve short-term outreach teams needing an affordable place to stay in Chiang Mai. The Director is a Thai missionary (also a licensed tour guide) who has excellent English and many years of experience as a translator and guide for outreach teams throughout Thailand.

Juniper Tree Resorts


Decription: Juniper Tree is a foundation set up to provide a place of rest for Christian workers
needing accommodations outside of their own culture. Here you will stay in rustic bungalows in a garden setting. Many families enjoy the pool and play areas for children. There are 34 bedrooms available. Minimum suggested donations are below, which include your room, 3 meals per day and laundry service. Metered air-conditioning units are available in all rooms, with an additional charge of 6 Baht per unit. Average costs to run the A/C during the night are 100 baht.
