The Health Network consists of English speaking health professionals living in Chiang Mai.  The network began in late 2007.  Our main purpose is to be a resource of health information and expertise to each other and then to the Expat community.  We want to be a source for health care promotion to newcomers to Chiang Mai, to those living here, and to those who come here seeking medical care while visiting.

We have four areas of focus:

1.  Each year we update a “Medical and Dental Care in Chiang Mai” guide, compiled from a number of sources, that lists caregivers and places to go for dealing with health care needs.

2.  We offer educational seminars on health and safety issues while living here in Chiang Mai and SE Asia.

3.  We are able to offer health information and guidance through email, phone, and personal consultation (see Health Guidance section).

4.  As health professionals we try to meet 3 times a year to keep each other informed on issues of health and help us work better in our roles here.

Health Guidance

As a network we have different areas of expertise in health care and illness prevention.  At times we are able to give health advice to individuals who do not know where to turn for a medical or health problem.  Three of our medical doctors are willing to provide health guidance for these types of situations.  We are not a substitute for the Thai medical system but we can complement the Thai system with health guidance, ensuring the best use of the Thai medical system.
