Life is so full that many of us rarely stop.  This is an invitation to slow down and connect with God while doing something fun and creative.  No artistic ability needed, just a desire to slow down and connect with God.  It's amazing the insights people gain through engaging in this simple process of cutting, ripping and gluing.  Silence will be expected for a significant part of this day.  There will be group reflection to begin and end the day.  Participants will have the option to talk through their experience with another person in the group.

Narramore Christian Foundation (NCF) and Cornerstone Counseling Foundation are once again sponsoring the Counseling and Member Care Seminar. It is designed for leaders, member care providers, or anyone in a cross-cultural setting called to counsel a great variety of people, but who feel that their education and training has not adequately equipped them to deal with the many problems they encounter in ministry.  This is an intensive seminar designed to increase one’s counseling and member care skills through a strong integration of biblical and theological truth, practical psychological insights, and counseling techniques.  Please contact Cindy Hibma, Seminar Coordinator, at cindyh@cornerstonecounseling.in.th to receive an application or an electronic brochure.  Printed brochures are available in the CCF office. Sarah Lanier, author of Foreign to Familiar, and Dr. Erick Spruyt, founder and director of Le Rucher Ministries in France, will lead a skills focused basic debriefing workshop for leaders, mental health professionals and seasoned member care workers.  Le Rucher is internationally known for its debriefing of career field workers, with a five-day, Christ-centered model and professionally trained debriefers.  Both theory and practical application will be offered, as well as key resources for leaders of agencies and therapists alike.  Trainees must have experience in the cross-cultural mission field.  It will be assumed that the trainee has skills in active listening and experience in missions.  Leaders, counselors, and member care workers are invited to attend.

Most often the conflicts arising in groups are due to the cultural differences.  Once these differences are understood, and ways of adjusting to a different culture are implemented, often the conflicts are resolved.  Sarah Lanier, author of Foreign to Familiar, will facilitate understanding through interactive examples of how to deal with multicultural situations.  (To be translated into Thai).
